It’s a holiday weekend and most of us will be partaking in a drink or few. I’m headed to Savannah for a day on the water, and when boating I tend to drink beer, seven hours or so on the water and liquor drinks can get dangerous. After a long day on the boat I do enjoy a Salty Dog or a Greyhound. There’s some sort of nostalgia for me with these grapefruit cocktails. Probably due to stealing sips from my parent’s drinks in my youth…
The Salty Dog (made with gin)
- 2 oz gin
- 4 oz grapefruit juice
- salt for rimming
- lemon or lime wedge for garnish
Pink Grapefruit Greyhound (made with vodka)
- 2 oz vodka
- 4 oz grapefruit juice
- lemon or lime wedge for garnish
