A NEW YORK RECAP: WHAT TO EAT
If you’re following along on instagram you may have already seen what I ate and did in New York a couple of weeks ago, but I like to do a recap to keep track of where and what. From time to time a friend will ask for suggestions, and I like how the blog let’s me easily link with a few things to see and do.
First up is Prune – It’s currently my favorite spot, and it seems that Chef Gabrielle Hamilton has thought of everything. For me the place is perfect. The decor, the glasses, the pink menus, the food. I’m in love.
The Dutch for Brunch – A friend recommended this spot, and I don’t often get to do brunch while in NYC, but this time I made an effort. There was lots of comfy seating, and we had a great meal. Hot chicken with honey biscuits and a fancy fried bologna sandwich.
We spent a couple of evenings at the Ace Hotel having drinks, and dinner at the John Dory Oyster Bar. Another pretty perfect spot. Delicious drinks, food, and an Opening Ceremony and Project No.8 store attached for shopping.
Red Farm was another TOP meal. A farm to table vibe serving up Chinese food with a twist. We had dumplings, pork buns and a Katz Deli pastrami egg roll (WHAT) that I’ll be dreaming of for a while. I mean, don’t sleep on this. Go.
Pork Fat Popcorn at Spitzers. Yes Please! I definitely want to replicate this at the house.
The last night was spent meeting up with friends for a casual dinner at B Bar. A roomy booth in a relaxing environment where we could hear each other talk. This was a Wednesday night, and from what I hear it get’s a little more happening in the summer and on weekends. It was just right on this particular night however, and around the corner from a stop at Verameat to see a friend and pick up some jewelry of course.
Oh, and of course a visit to Eataly with all of its beautiful food that you’ll wish you could stuff in your suitcase and travel home with. A quick fresh pasta meal and glass of Rose´ before heading home.
